This guy just does not get it. They Tea Party People are protesting against politician's like him. He voted for all the obscene federal Spending that the Tea Party Activists are fighting.

Republican Rep. Gresham Barrett, who supported both the trillion-dollar TARP and now supports the trillion-dollar stimulus package, was booed and hecled by an estimated 3,000 people at a Tax Day Tea Party.

He continues to say he is against the out of control federal spending and is on their side.

How?

Companies start competing for bailout money

WASHINGTON (AP) — The bailout is now the hottest lobbying game in town.

Insurers, automakers and American subsidiaries of foreign banks all want the Treasury Department to cut them a piece of the largest government rescue in U.S. history.

The betting is that many with their hands out will be successful, especially with financial markets in a stomach-churning dive and predictions the economy is about to tumble into a deep recession.

These groups argue that the credit squeeze is so severe and the risks to the economy so dire that their industries need financial support as well.

The Treasury is considering requests from a variety of industries, but has not decided whether to expand the program, officials said Saturday.

Lobbying efforts are intensifying.

The Constitution Party - what’s that?To the Editor:Although I am not a member of a political party, I do try to keep up on the issues. And I continue to be amazed and disappointed by the short shrift, if any, given to many issues by the mainstream and local media.


In general, the Ron Paul revolution has been largely ignored; what an opportunity to springboard off this and educate the American people on our history and what our Constitutional principles are all about, which focus on freedom, peace, and prosperity. Specifically, delve into our foreign policy where our free trade agreements are neither free or fair, and where we spend billions all over the world driving us toward bankruptcy. Some coverage is given to Bob Barr running on the Libertarian Party, and certainly Mayor Bloomberg would get a lot of coverage if he would run as an independent.


But what have you heard about the Constitution Party, America’s fastest-growing and largest third party based on voter registrations? In April that party nominated Chuck Baldwin as their presidential candidate over some other fine individuals, including Alan Keyes. The party actually stands for something (other than getting votes no matter what) to include the right to life and the right to keep and bear arms. The party opposes conscription and any type of constitutional convention. It calls for repeal of the Federal Reserve Act and the “anchor baby” loophole used to provide legal status within our nation for border crossers.


It seeks abolition of the Departments of Education and Energy; withdrawal from the United Nations, NATO, NAFTA, and the WTO; termination of all foreign aid and all tax-supported benefits for illegal immigrants; phasing out of the Social Security system; and ending the practice of sending military forces into battle without a congressional declaration of war. Believing that reducing the size of government to constitutional limits would enormously cut government’s monetary needs, the platform calls for the abolition of the Internal Revenue Service and the repeal of the income-tax amendment.


You know third parties, and fourth parties would be viable in this country if the media would cover them and enlighten and educate us, instead of ignoring them, and spending their millions on rehashing the same stuff, and the same two parties, over and over and over again. C’mon media, start doing your job.

I see now that you are a tool. I thought you had the peoples best interest at heart. I never thought I, a true conservative, would ever aplaud the socialist Democrats. The FISA bill is dangerous.

The Declaration of Independence says all men have inalienable rights given by God. The rights in our constitution are rights given to all men. Our Constitution is to protect the rights of our people and our guests (foreigners).

If we use warrentless wire taps then we are either monitoring a foriegner or a citizen in this country while communicating to someone in another nation. That is a violation of the Constitution to wiretap a citizen or a guest without a warrant.

Just look at the candidacy of Constitionalist, Libertarian, True Conservative, Small Government, Foe of Collectivism Ron Paul.

No, he did not clinch the Republican nomination, but what Paul, a long shot marginal candidate that was given no press coverage, accomplished is phenominal.

Paul had, and still has, a massive grassroots support as reflected in dozens of wins in most of the GOP straw polls, as well as massive support through the internet as evidenced through supporter organized online oneday giving campaigns called moneybombs.

There were many of these supporter organized fundraisers, with the two most notable netting $4.3 million on November 5th, 2007 and $6.0 million on December 16th, 2007. The December 16th fundraiser was the largest one day fundraiser in political history. His contributions from the military trumped all Republican candidates. He also raised raised more than any other Republican candidate in fourth-quarter 2007.

Paul's name was a number one web search term, and he beat out all the other candidates in Youtube subscriptions.

This is a major victory for the message of Constitutional Small Government Liberty.

Also in Virginia, Classic Libertarian/Conservative Pro-Liberty Jeff Frederick defeated Moderate Neo-Conservative Incumbent John Hager for Virginia Republican Party Chairman Position. This is a major victory for old school pro-Liberty conservatives with the technical internet know-how to reach this generation.

Liberty Setbacks:

There was a set back as well. Neo-con Jim Gilmore defeated Classic Conservative, Pro-Liberty Bob Marshall for the Virginia Republican Senate Seat Nomination. This was a convoluted win in my opinion because of the antiquated vote tabulation system at the Rebublican Convention. Because of the voting formula used, Marshall could have had more votes present on the floor at the Convention and still lost to Gilmore.

It warped my brain trying to figure out how to explain this formula in the simplest way possible.

There is a Long Road to Hoe in the fight to rescue the Constitution and restore these United States to a Constitutional Republic and great Federation of Semi-autonomous States. There will be victories and setbacks along the way.

And, even if we are lose the war in the end for Liberty in this nation, and on the earth; we should still fight this great fight, because fighting for the Liberty of Man from the Collectivist Tyrany of illegitimate Governing bodies is the moral thing to do.

Ron Paul's Phenominal Presidential Run

The Ron Paul Freedom and Liberty Movement:

"Pleasantly surprised" by his exploratory committee's findings, Paul formally declared his candidacy for the 2008 Republican nomination on March 12th, 2007, on C-SPAN. His campaign has very strong grassroots support, as reflected in dozens of wins in GOP straw polls, his lead in web searches and YouTube subscriptions, and "surprisingly strong" fundraising with several record-breaking events. Military contributions surpassed all Republican candidates, and donations came heavily from individuals, due significantly to a robust online presence and supporters' creative use of viral marketing. Supporter-organized moneybomb fundraisers netted $4.3 million on November 5th, 2007 and $6.0 million on December 16th, 2007; the latter was widely regarded as the single largest one-day fundraiser in political history. Paul raised more than any other Republican candidate in fourth-quarter 2007. Paul's name was a number-one web search term as ranked by Technorati, beginning around May 2007, and he has led other candidates in YouTube subscriptions since May 20, 2007.

Though projections of 2008 Republican delegate counts have varied widely, Paul's count has consistently been third among the three candidates remaining after Super Tuesday. According to CNN and the New York Times, through Super Tuesday, Paul had received 5 delegates in North Dakota, and was projected to receive 2 in Iowa, 4 in Nevada, and 5 in Alaska based on caucus results, totaling 16. However, Paul's campaign projected 42 delegates based on the same results, including delegates from Colorado, Maine, and Minnesota.

In the January Louisiana caucus, Paul placed second behind John McCain, but uncommitted delegates outnumbered both candidates' pledged delegates, since a registration deadline had been extended to January 12th. Paul said he had the greatest number of pledged Louisiana delegates who had registered by the original January 10th deadline, and formally challenged the deadline extension and the Louisiana GOP's exclusion of voters due to an outdated list; he projected 3 Louisiana delegates. The Super Tuesday West Virginia caucus was won by Mike Huckabee, whose state campaign coordinators reportedly arranged to give 3 Huckabee delegates to Paul in exchange for votes from Paul's supporters. Huckabee has not confirmed this delegate pledge.

Paul's preference votes in primaries and caucuses began at 10% in Iowa (winning Jefferson County) and 8% in New Hampshire; on Super Tuesday they ranged from 25% in Montana and 21% in North Dakota, where he won several counties outright, to 3% in several states. After sweeping four states on March 4th, McCain was widely projected to have a majority of delegates pledged to vote for him in the September party convention. Paul obliquely acknowledged McCain on March 6th: "Though victory in the political sense [is] not available, many victories have been achieved due to hard work and enthusiasm." He continued to contest the remaining primaries, having added, "McCain has the nominal number ... but if you're in a campaign for only gaining power, that is one thing; if you're in a campaign to influence ideas and the future of the country, it's never over." His book about his presidential run, The Revolution: A Manifesto, became a New York Times and Amazon.com bestseller immediately upon release.
